A 50-year-old man is now in custody accused of assaulting a 78-year-old woman in a recent home invasion, according to the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies say Anthony Christopher Spencer was arrested Saturday at a home in the 1600 block of 26th Street in Port Huron Township thanks to a tip from a citizen.

Spencer is accused of breaking into a home in the 5500 block of Carrigan Road in Clyde Township on Friday night, tying up an elderly woman and stealing her debit card along with the woman's vehicle.

The victim was injured in the incident and treated at the hospital.

Spencer's arraignment is set for today in Port Huron.
