REDFORD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Michigan State Police says someone brought an artillery shell to the Redford Police Department on Monday morning. They also found 29 live and inert artillery shells at the person's home.
According to MSP, the bomb squad was dispatched to the department. They say if you find something in your home that you believe is an old explosive, "PLEASE do not drive it to the local police station, state police post or fire department."
MSP said that the bomb squad cleared the department and the device was inert, but when they went to the home, they found the 29 devices. The bomb squad was able to recover the devices.
According to Redford Township police, the people were cleaning out a home for renovation when they found the shells.

Instead, MSP says to leave it where it is and call the police or fire department right away and they will come to you. It's much safer for everyone that way, police say.
