Man hit with 5 counts of 2nd-degree murder in metro Detroit drunk-driving crash

A 22-year-old man is now facing charges in a May Livingston County crash that left five people dead including an Oakland County probation agent. 

The Livingston County prosecutor's office has charged Matthew Jordan Carrier of Fenton with five counts of second degree murder, five counts of operating while intoxicated causing death, two counts of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury, five counts of driving while license suspended causing death and two counts of driving while license suspended causing serious injury. 

Carrier is accused blowing through a stop sign near M-59 and Argentine on May 9, causing the fatal accident. Five people were killed and two others were seriously injured. 

Records for the 22-year-old show a history of citations for careless driving, speeding, operating while impaired by liquor and driving on a suspended license. 

Carrier was arraigned on the charges this morning.
