DETROIT (WXYZ) — A Detroit man was sentenced Thursday for his involvement in the fatal elevator shooting at Greektown Casino Hotel in the city's downtown area.
Wayne Circuit Court Judge Morrow sentenced 30-year-old Carlile Jackson to 3 years probation for his role in the death of Shunsaiah Glaze.
On Dec. 2, 2017 around 4:06 a.m., it is alleged that 29-year-old Rodney Pritchett, 30-year-old Shawn Wilson and 30-year-old Carlile Jackson had a physical fight with Glaze in a hotel room.
Glaze then left the room, entered an elevator and the three men followed him. Inside the elevator, Prichett fired a shot that hit Glaze in the torso, police say.
The victim was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office charged Jackson with second degree murder and tampering with evidence.
Rodney Prichett was sentenced to prison earlier for his role.
