Two Detroit officers killed in the line of duty were remembered overnight.
Officers Matthew Bowens and Jennifer Fettig died 13 years ago during a traffic stop.
Both officers were ambushed 13 years ago today and every year on this day, they are remembered for their sacrifice.
The memorial just wrapped up after 2 a.m. Thursday. It's held at the same place the two were killed.
Friends and family along with fellow officers gathering to remember the two heroes. Their deaths - in the line of duty - come just as their fellow officers here in Detroit try to move past a deadly year in 2016.
Back in October, Officer Myron Jarrett was on duty when he was hit by suspected drunk driver and Sgt. Kenneth Steil was shot at close range while chasing a fugitive.
