There's a new app designed to help those who are colorblind.

Microsoft has launched Color Binoculars, an app that aims to make it easier for people to distinguish between difficult color combinations.

The company notes on its blog that the free app works using the iPhone’s camera. The app applies certain filters to make colors stand out.

It's made to help those with red/green, green/red, or blue/yellow colorblindness.

For example, with reds and greens, the app’s filters can turn the red to a pink, or darken the green to help users tell the colors apart.

The app is meant to be used as a viewfinder, it can’t apply the filters to images or video already captured, according to Microsoft.

The Microsoft blog explains how this tool that can help people with daily tasks. Cooking and choosing matching clothes were a couple of the examples.

The app is currently available for iOS devices.
