Monroe police officers serve as bell ringers for Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign

Posted

You seem them out every year around this time, standing in the cold outside of stores and other businesses.

The Salvation Army bell ringers are raising money for a good cause, but this year, donations are down and the Salvation Army may be in danger of cutting some of its major programs.

On Friday, officers with the Monroe Police Department were the bell ringers, hoping to help out during this special time of year. The money the Salvation Army raises is extremely important.

You can donate to help the program at their website, salvationarmy.org.
