Michigan State Police Commander Kriste Etue has again apologized for posting a meme on her Facebook page calling NFL football players who took a knee during the National Anthem "millionaire ingrates" and "anti-American degenerates."

This time it was inside a closed door meeting with the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus.
Some members are still calling for her resignation. They also started discussing what they say are "cultural" issues inside the State Police including a lack of diversity in the ranks and in top leadership... and a pending case in Detroit.
The commander gave a brief statement saying "we have some work to do with the minority population."
On August 26, 15-year-old Damon Grimes was riding an ATV illegally on a street on the east side, when MSP Trooper Mark Bessner and another Trooper drove up to Grimes.
Bessner used a taser on Grimes causing Grimes to crash and be killed. Bessner has resigned. There is also evidence another MSP Sergeant destroyed evidence in the case. That issue will go before Federal Judge Gershwin Drain Friday morning in a civil lawsuit filed by the Grimes family.
No one has been charged in the Grimes death. Both MSP and Detroit Police are conducting separate investigations.
The Caucus has another meeting set next week with Governor Rick Snyder who has supported Commander Etue.
