There's a new call to action this morning regarding the Flint water crisis.
NAACP President and CEO Cornell William Brooks will be hosting a meeting later today for the people of Flint.
Brooks will be joined by local and state leaders to call for a resolution to the Flint water crisis.
The call to action comes less than 24 hours after Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette gave an update on his investigation into the problem.
Schuette announced that former assistant prosecutor for Wayne County Todd Flood and former Detroit FBI boss Andy Arena will assist in the investigation.
The appointment of Flood and Arena comes as the attorney general tries to avoid any conflict of interest as his office defends the state.
At this point, it’s not clear if the investigation could result in criminal or civil charges, but Schuette promises a thorough investigation with the two men handling every angle.
The Associated Press reports that Flood had previously donated to Schuette's campaign--and also to Governor Snyder.
The NAACP meeting is described as a public mass meeting which will be held today at 5 p.m. at the U-M Flint's Northbank Center.
