West Bloomfield School District officials sent an email to parents saying a security breach to their network exposed certain student information.
The email sent on Thursday stated the breach affected a stored file that contained the following student data:
• Google Account Username and Password
• Last Name
• First Name
• Middle Name
• Student ID
• Grade in school
• Graduation year
• School Name
• Birthdate (month/day not year)
The breach has been contained and is currently being investigated by the district's IT department, according to the email.
As a precaution, students in grades 6-12 are being asked to bring their Chromebooks to school today so they can make sure their credentials still work. They will also be resetting their Google password.
