(WXYZ) — New proposed legislation would expand bottle deposits to all beverages except milk.
It would include containers like tea, water, sports drinks and hard cider.
The bills are sponsored by Rep. Jon Hoadley and State Sen. Sean McCann.
The legislation would also let people cash in the containers at large stores.
Michigan is one of 10 states that maintains a bottle deposit program.
