The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says a deputy was injured in a motorcycle crash this morning.
The accident happened in the area of Newton Road and Richardson Road in Commerce Township.
According to the sheriff's office, the deputy was traveling northbound on Newton Road when the driver of an SUV failed to yield and turned left in front of him. The deputy then put his bike down to avoid hitting the vehicle.
Deputies say the 61-year-old driver did stop to help the deputy.
We're told the 46-year-old deputy was rushed to the hospital and is currently listed in serious but stable condition.
