Here is the preliminary information from the Detroit Police Department:

1:37 a.m., July 27 – Fatal pedestrian accident

A 24-year-old victim was crossing the street on E 7 Mile and Rowe, when he was hit by a 2008 light blue Dodge Caravan. The 58-year-old driver of the caravan remained at the scene.

The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he later died.
