Detroit's 36th District Court is cracking down on no-show jurors.
152 people who were summoned for jury duty, at least twice, and failed to appear will have to explain their absence at Show Cause Hearings on November 9th and 10th.
Those people could be held in contempt of court and face fines or jail.
Anyone who skips the hearings could face an arrest warrant.
"Jury duty is an important civic duty and should not be taken lightly," Chief Judge Nancy M. Blount said. "Those citizens not responding to this essential obligation could face serious consequences."
The court is giving those no-show jurors one last chance to avoid the hearings.
They must appear for jury duty before November 9th.
