Detroit police say the barricaded gunman situation on Detroit's west side has ended peacefully.

Police surrounded the home just after 3 a.m. and shots were fired.

Eventually, police were able to talk the man out of his house without any injuries.

4:00 a.m

Police are on the scene of a barricaded gunman situation on Detroit's west side.

Officers have surrounded a home on Steel between Buena Vista and I-96.

The situation began just after 3 a.m. We're told shots were fired.

Police say when they arrived, a woman came out of the house.

Police also say the gunman is still inside the home with a firearm.

Special response teams have been called to the scene.

There has been no word about evacuations in the area.
