After winning the Republican nomination for the 15th District State House, Terrence Guido Gerin, also known as WWE's Rhyno, lost in the general election.
Gerin lost to Abdullah Hammoud, who got 62 percent of the vote, totaling 21,379 votes. Gerin received 13,452 votes, good enough for 38 percent.
Hammoud and Gerin ran to replace George Darany, a Democrat who was prevented from running again due to a three-term limit.
After initially announcing he would enter the race, Gerin spoke to WWE.com and explained his decision. "I’ve followed politics for decades," he said. "It’s something I’ve always had a passion for. I love my country, I love my state of Michigan and I love the city I live in. It’s something I’ve thought about doing for a while."
Hammoud, 26, works as a professional health adviser for Henry Ford Health System.
