DETROIT, Mich. (WXYZ) — Whether you live in the city of Detroit or not, I think we all want to see more growth, progress and revitalization in the neighborhoods. The people who live in the neighborhoods deserve that.

A major redevelopment project is underway in Detroit's Jefferson-Chalmers community. The plan is to make a portion of the Motor City, that already has great charm, appeal to the citizens who stuck around while hopefully also enticing others to move in.

However, the progress has not been without opposition. Residents rallied together Thursday to say that they want 'Development without Displacement."

Action News reporter Andrea Isom spoke with folks who are passionate on all fronts.
