The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to locate the person(s) who abandoned five puppies on the side of a rural road in Dundee Township.

On April 22, a good Samaritan discovered the five puppies in a ditch near Kent and Wilcox and took them to Monroe County Animal Control.

The puppies, all male and of a hound breed, were treated for a variety of illnesses and transferred to a rescue near Grand Rapids.

They will be cared for until they are healthy enough to be adopted.

If anyone has information regarding this case, they are asked to call the Monroe County Animal Control Shelter at 734-240-3125.
