ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. (WXYZ) — Tonight the owner of a liquor store in Rochester Hills says the person who stole a $3,700 bottle of Cognac from his business new exactly what they were doing.

Now, the search is on to find the person responsible for this smash-and-grab.

It was around 4:25 a.m. Saturday when Twisted Oak Wine and Spirits in Rochester Hills was broken into.

The owner, James Gindo, says the person who broke in new exactly what they were after and knew where to look.

"Ran in here grabbed one bottle of liquor," Gindo said. "In the surveillance video you can tell the way he jumped around the counter he knew exactly what he was here for."

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says the suspect used a stolen car to ram their way through the front doors, leaving the liquor store in shambles.

Gindo says from now on he’ll keep his expensive bottles locked up.

"It’s going to be kind of hard to bring another one back," the owner said. "I don’t know if I’m even going to bring it back."

If you have any information about this crime call the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.
