The American Red Cross is asking people to step up by giving the gift of life as they are in desperate need of blood donations across metro Detroit.
The organization was forced to cancel 250 blood drives this month alone.
According to the Red Cross, every two seconds, someone in the United States needs a blood transfusion, with the blood types O positive, O Negative, B negative and A negative the most in need.
