14 people treated for Salmonella at Henry Ford

Henry Ford Hospital and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is confirming that fourteen people have been treated for gastroenteritis symptoms caused by a strain of salmonella.

Seven patients remain hospitalized. They are reportedly doing well and are in isolation as a precaution.

No new patients have been identified beyond the original 14. 

Officials say there is no evidence at this point linking the illness to food.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and Henry Ford Hospital are investigating the outbreak.
