The 7 Investigators have found a contractor who claims he removed hazardous Asbestos-tainted materials from a house. But did he? And did he get paid?

Two houses are involved in this 642 and 638 Navahoe on Detroit’s east side.

Documents obtained by the 7 Investigators show a contractor called Professional Asbestos Service removed materials 642 Navahoe and properly disposed of them.

But Detroit City officials say that house burned down in a fire two years earlier and was just a pile of rubble.

Danny Bennett with PASI tells 7 Investigator Jim Kiertzner on the phone that he does not know when the fire happened and he may have made a mistake confusing the two houses.

Loose plaster walls remain in the house in 638 Navahoe.

City officials say they do have field inspectors who are supposed to catch these issues along the way.  This one was not.

They also say the contractor, Danny Bennett has been suspended from doing work with the city since last December.

Bennett says the city owes him a half million dollars for past work.
