Crime Stoppers is stepping up its efforts to make Detroit a safer city.
The organization is bringing law enforcement, churches and community groups together - all working hand in hand to curb violence.
Crime Stoppers of Michigan announced the formation of the community response team today. It is a group comprised of law enforcement, faith-based groups and community-based groups.
The goal is to make the streets of Detroit safer.
Organizers believe the safest communities are those that work closely with the police.
The community response team's mission statement in part says "make peace more popular than violence"
