New Providence Baptist Church is in the process of preparing for it's 16th Bi-Annual Free Clothing, Shoes and More Giveaway to be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

The church is asking for the support of individuals, families, churches, businesses, community groups, schools and local media to donate their new and gently used items to help clothe local Detroiters in need. New Providence Baptist Church is now accepting: new and gently used men, women, infant and children clothing, coats, shoes, jewelry, purses, ties, belts, gloves, hats, scarves, umbrellas, baby items, car seats, playpens, strollers, walkers, wheelchairs, bicycles, toys, and children books. 

New Providence does not accept gently used undergarments, swimming suits, wigs, lingerie, bedding, stuffed animals, furniture or any item with stains, ripped, faded, dirty or broken.

 

The aim of the Bi-Annual Free Clothing, Shoes and More Giveaway is to provide clothing, shoes and accessories in a clean, inviting, non threatening environment for those in need.

Items can be dropped off items Monday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Tuesday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Wednesday 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Thursday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., , Friday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., Saturday 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and immediately after 10:00 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

The last day to donate is Saturday, March 5 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

All donations must be clean and in good condition, folded or on hangers. New Providence ask that you please separate the bag by type (e.g. men, women, children) to help the volunteers with sorting the donations. New Providence will not sell the items. All donations are tax deductible.

New Providence is also seeking  volunteers to help sort through the community donations and convert the church banquet facility into a clothing store for this one day shopping spree.
