Detroit Lions to visit students at Sheiko Elementary in Detroit

Posted
Students at Sheiko Elementary School will get a visit from the Detroit Lions in recognition of the school's work to help students adopt healthy habits through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan's Building Healthy Communities initiative.  The program is in partnership with the Detroit Lions through the National Football League's Fuel Up to Play 60 program.

The Lions' visit will focus on healthy habits, educating students on how to grow up to be strong, healthy adults. The assembly will feature educational presentations, games, contests and giveaways along with a Detroit Lions' player appearance.

Nearly 1 in 3 Michigan children are overweight or obese. Together, Blue Cross and the Detroit Lions are tackling this statistic and helping to make Michigan healthier by encouraging kids to be active for 60 minutes every day.
