Detroit man mauled by dog on city's east side

Detroit police are investigating after a 44-year-old man was attacked by a dog on the city's east side on Friday morning.

According to police, the man suffered serious injuries to his right arm and will undergo surgery.

We're told the dog suffered injuries three weeks ago and was brought to the home but not allowed inside. The dog was injured when someone broke into the original home it was staying at.

A witness said the dog was not allowed around the children, but may have snapped when it attacked the man on Friday.

This is the sixth incident involving a dog mauling in metro Detroit over the past two months.
