The fighting against blight in Detroit continues. Today, another abandoned home was taken down and our cameras were rolling.

The city says they are working very hard to clean up neighborhoods throughout Detroit, and this, is just one example.

Now the space can be used for lots of good in the community, including a garden.

Twenty-eight-year-old Antonio Cosme has lived in Detroit all his life. He has a plot of plants on the 5000 block of Renville - where the demolition took place - and now wants to turn it all into a community garden.

The city says five other homes in the area will be coming down within the next two months - and its all part of their mission to fight blight and help one neighborhood at a time.

If there is a home in your neighborhood that you want taken down, the city says contact your district manager.
