Enrollment grows at Wayne State University for first time in seven years

Enrollment at Wayne State University has grown for the first time in seven years, the university announced on Thursday.

It was up .4 percent, which is 104 students, this fall, bringing current enrollment to 27,326 students.

In all, the university welcomed 7,346 new students to campus, the most in recent years and a 2.5 percent increase over last year's incoming class.

The university has a goal of 30,000 students enrolled by 2021.
