The family of a man shot to death outside a well-known Detroit business by a CPL holder last night, took to the streets.
They claim the owner of the Hip Hop Shop unjustly killed the 26-year-old father.
They held a walk to end the violence, but this time - for everyone involved - it hits close to home.
Each sign, each tear was for 26-year old Marcel Dubose, shot and killed outside the Hip Hop shop in Detroit Monday night, accused of being a robber by the man who fired the deadly shots.
Dubose's father Richard Poole tells 7 Action News, "I'm still trying to figure out what happened. They're trying to tell me something about a robbery, but that's not my son. That's not what he do."
The owner of the Hip Hop shop, a CPL holder, told officers a would be robber with a brick came after him as he was going into the building and fired four shots in self defense, killing him.
Dubose's family claims, the man who would sell CD's of his MMA fights outside, wasn't the type to rob someone.
They walked for blocks down Hamilton in Highland Park, knowing they had to honor his life somehow.
Now, they're waiting to find out if anything will happen to the man behind the trigger.
The owner remained in custody today, as investigators wait to see if charges will follow.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office says it hasn't received a warrant request.
