As Detroit Police continue to hunt down the people responsible for the killing of an off-duty Detroit firefighter, the victim's father is talking in hopes that someone will help investigators with information in the case.

Tuesday morning, fellow firefighters began to worry when Jack Wiley II, 29, didn't show up for work.

They contacted his relatives, and Wiley's sister and mother entered his home on Penrod near Fenkell and made the horrific discovery.

Wiley had been beaten and fatally shot.

"To the guys that did this, trust me, we're going to catch you," said Jack Wiley Sr., a retired senior chief for the Detroit Fire Department.

With permission from the Wiley family, Verdine Day, Treasurer for the Detroit Fire Fighters Association, started a GoFundMe account to raise money for a reward in the case.

"Sometimes money makes a difference," said Day, a longtime family friend.

Anyone with information in the case is urged to call homicide investigators at 313-596-2260 or Crime Stoppers at 1(800)SPEAK-UP.
