FBI raids medical office at Fisher Building in Detroit's New Center

At least a dozen FBI agents were seen leaving the Fisher Building Wednesday afternoon after raiding at least one medical office on West Grand Boulevard in connection with a scheme to defraud Medicare of more than $131 million.

According to witnesses agents raided the third and fifth floor around 9:30 a.m.

They say agents came in with guns and left with white boxes, and computers.

Documents show one of the offices raided was the Nat Lab.

One person connected to the lab says they were unaware of the raid and says the drug lab has met the standard when it comes to quality control.

Timothy Wiley with the FBI says the FBI was conducting a law enforcement activity, but would not go into detail.

A federal indictment charges Mashiyat Rashid, Yasser Mozeb, Spilios Pappas, Abdul Haq, Joseph Betro, Tariq Omar and Mohammed Zahoor. 

All 7 have been charged with 1 count of Health Care Fraud Conspiracy and 5 counts of Health Care Fraud.

Mozeb has also been charged with a count of Conspiracy to Defraud the United States and Pay and Receive Health Care Kickbacks.

Rashid has also been charged with a count of Conspiracy to Defraud the United States and Pay and Receive Health Care Kickbacks, a count of Receipt of Kickbacks in Connection with a Federal Heath Care Program, and a count of Payment of Kickbacks in Connection with a Federal Heath Care Program.
