7 Action News has learned the man has been taken into custody. He is conscious and breathing. No other details have been released.
10:00 p.m.
SWAT teams, negotiators, and other first responders have been on scene for nearly seven hours, waiting for a 67-year-old man to leave his home.
The man is hiding out inside a van in the back of the house new Lafayette and Wheelock on the city's southwest side.
We're told he has two long guns, and has been shot once in the rear.
Police tell us the man was served eviction papers around 2:00 pm, but thought someone had been breaking into his house.
After calling 911, officers showed up to find the man threatening them with a gun.
An officer fired his gun, striking the man in the rear. He's been inside the van ever since.
Detroit Police Commander Elvin Barren says the man told them the bleeding has stopped for now, and claims he won't leave until he feels like it.
Right now, it's just a waiting game, as investigators will not go on the attack, instead just sit back and wait for him to give up.
The man has lived at the home for nearly 50 years.
Negotiators have been in touch with the man by phone, but at one point he hung up, saying he needed some time to think.
His daughter is on the scene, hoping for a peaceful end.

Police say the eviction began about 2:00 p.m.
At that point, the 67-year-old suspect called 911 to report that someone was trying to break into his home.
Police responded and the suspect pulled a weapon. Officers fired upon him and he was hit in the rear. The suspect did not fire.
He retreated to the van, where he is currently barricaded. He has told police that he is no longer bleeding.
Officers say he has been in the home for 50 years. He has also said he will come out when he is ready.
Police say they will wait him out and that he is not a danger to the community.

A large police presence has gathered at the scene. Dozens of officers have responded. Crime scene tape is up and is blocking off the area.
5:15 p.m.
A gunman has barricaded himself inside a minivan after opening fire on Detroit police officers.
The man was being served with eviction papers from a bailiff when an altercation took place at Wheelock and Lafayette in southwest Detroit.
When Detroit police officers arrived, the man reportedly began firing shots. We're told police officers fired shots in return.
It is not clear if anyone has been injured.
