Federal Judge George Caram Steeh sentenced 22-year-old Kahlil Abu Rayyan to 5 years in prison and 3 years of supervised release.
Kahlil pleaded guilty to 2 gun charges.
The evidence is he followed ISIS terror attack videos online, emailed his brother that he wanted to carry out an attack - shoot up a church and kill a Detroit Police Officer who arrested him.
The family asked if he could do his prison time in Milan to be close. T
he judge said he wants Kahlil to get mental health and substance abuse treatment while in prison.
Kahlil was a heavy marijuana user, smoking 10-15 blunts a day.
