Man arrested, taken to hospital after pulling gun on Detroit Police

Detroit Police say a man who tried to pull a gun on them is now in the hospital in temporary serious condition. 

Police say they got a call of shots fired to an apartment complex located on Greenfield near Fenkell on Detroit’s west side Friday night around 7:45. 

Once they arrived, police say witnesses on scene pointed a man out to them. 

They say when they went to confront the man, he pulled a gun out of his waistband and then proceeded to drop it. 

Police say they then used force to arrest the man, and that once he was arrested, they were able to recover the gun. 

7 Action News is told the man arrested is 30-years-old and is currently in the hospital in temporary serious condition. 

Police say an officer was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
