A big change is coming for the 2017 Meridian Winter Blast.
The annual winter festival at Campus Martius is moving up on the calendar. It will now take place January 20-22, to coincide with the final weekend of the North American International Auto Show.
Event organizers made the announcement as part of an event where they revealed a new partnership with the auto show.
The Winter Blast will now also include a food truck rally, and special music performances. Some of those performance will come from DJs who perform at the Movement Electronic Music Festival in the summer.
Admission to the festival will be $3 of 3 canned goods.
