Mother of Detroit boy rescued during Amber Alert facing allegations she's an unfit mother

The Detroit mother, whose son was at the center of an Amber Alert last week, is now facing two separate investigations.

Sources tells us new allegations are surfacing, accusing LaToya Spears of being an unfit mother, who parties too much and doesn't watch her kids.

Spears told us, "I don't want y'all to see me like this. I take care of my kids. My kids come first, no matter what."

Sources say Child Protective Services and Detroit Police are now investigating.

Spears is the mother of Marvie Gardner, the three-year-old who was kidnapped last week, setting off an Amber Alert.

The boy's father and his family believe she's not taking care of her responsibilities.

Dad Marvie Gardner was asked, "Do you think she's safe here with mom?"

He responded, "No. Not at all."

His family also accuses her of never once looking for little Marvie when he was kidnapped last Thursday.

Investigators were at the house when we showed up Friday night.

Earlier in the day, Spears attended a news conference with Detroit Police and the mayor, thanking them for their help in finding her son at a vacant house.

Spears and Gardner have joint custody of Marvie and another child. Spears has four children in all.

CPS is expected to visit the house soon.
