It's one of Detroit's oldest unsolved crimes with deep ties to Detroit police. 45 years ago, an officer, husband and father was murdered while on duty.

His youngest daughter was just 6 months old when he died, and now, decades later, she's a deputy chief with the Detroit Police Department.

Tuesday on 7 Action News at 11, Simon Shaykhet shares her story of inspiration and determination, and how she's using her dad's death to help others.
