Police are on the hunt for an attacker on Detroit's east side. A woman there was left critically injured by a man who stabbed her and attempted to rape her.
The 39-year-old woman was at home alone, asleep in her house on Radnor Street. Family members tell 7 Action News an intruder entered her home through a window.
They say he attempted to rape the woman and then stabbed her.
"You see this stuff on the news and you don't think it's going to happen to your loved one," said Konica Burnett, the victim's sister.
The victim's mother recounted a conversation with her daughter who says she fought back against the attacker as hard as she could.
That suspect is described as an African-American man between the ages of 17 and 20. He was about 150 pounds, had a mustache and beard and was wearing a red hoodie and blue jeans.
If you have any information about this crime, you are urged to call Detroit police.
