World-renowned jazz pianist Kenny Barron is touring Michigan.

On Sunday, February 14th, he'll be playing at theCarr Center in Detroit, located at 311 East Grand River Avenue.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.

Over the past week, he spent time at Michigan State University as part of the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union Jazz Artist in Residence program.

He took part in several workshops and campus concerts with MSU Jazz Octets.

"The program is designed for us to be able to take our students across the state of Michigan, with a nationally-known guest artist," said Rodney Whitaker, head of Jazz Studies at Michigan State.

Barron says it's been great working with the students.

"They're very talented, they're very enthusiastic," Barron said. "I do it to give back and to keep the music alive."

Barron performed "Autumn Leaves" during a segment of 7 Action New This Morning.
