A Northfield Township teen was hit and killed while walking home from work early Friday morning.
According to Green Oak Township Police, it happened around 2 a.m. on Friday morning while the 19-year-old was walking on Whitemore Lake Rd. near 8 Mile. Whitmore Lake Rd. runs parallel with U.S. 23.
Investigators believe the teen was likely walking home from his job at McDonalds, when he was hit and the driver of the vehicle didn’t stop.
"Unfortunately we don't know what happened. I mean, they could, they could not be at fault sometimes they're just scared and leave. Really you have no idea,” said Sgt. Steve Kramer with Green Oak Twp. Police.
The teen’s body was not discovered until late Friday evening.
Investigators are hopeful someone with information will speak up, since there are no witnesses.
