Couple claims 40 dogs seized were therapy dogs

Posted

Richard and Kim Klee claim the 40 dogs recently seized from their home by Macomb County Animal Control were "therapy dogs" used to help Mrs. Klee, who is disabled, overcome abuse she suffered as a child.

"I love them," said Kim Klee who stayed home to care for the dogs that included ten puppies from four different litters.

The Klees claim they didn't know they were doing anything wrong, and believe authorities are simply harassing them.

But the head of animal control says they had good reason to seize the 40 dogs and nine cats.
