A 21-year-old Warren man is under arrest after an argument with the mother of his four-year-old boy turned ugly and led to gunfire.
Police say it began with the man arguing with his child's mother and some of her friends on the porch of a house on Chalmers Avenue.
At one point the child's father fired off a round from a .45 caliber semiautomatic handgun.
Neighbors called Warren Police and when the responding officer arrived, the 21-year-old allegedly fired several shots at the officer, according to police.
Officers surrounded the location, but the suspect managed to sneak out the back door and hide in a neighbor's detached garage.
The man was still armed, but because he wasn't wearing a shirt or shoes in the frigid weather, his standoff with Warren Police didn't last very long.
The man was arrested and he is expected to be charged with multiple felonies.
