Parents and school officials in Warren are on alert after a strange man tried to lure an elementary school student into his work van.
It was a scary walk home for an elementary school student who did the right thing and ran when confronted by a stranger.
7 Action News has obtained the letter the superintendent of Warren Woods Public Schools sent home to parents after the incident Monday afternoon.
An elementary aged student was walking in the area of Roan and Martin Streets, just blocks from the elementary school.
He was approached by a white work van. The driver then got out, became aggressive and offered to give him a ride home.
The student ran back to the school, met up with his dad and reported the incident.
Here’s a description of the suspect:
- An older white man
- Bald
- Mustache
- Wearing a plaid shirt
This all happening just a block or so from an elementary school, so police are taking this seriously.
If you see a suspicious vehicle around there, call Warren police.
