A 20-year-old Chesterfield Township woman has been arraigned on charges relating to a fatal crash on I-94 early Thursday morning.
According to the Macomb County Sheriff's Office, Ceara Abbott was charged with Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death and Operating While Intoxicated (2nd Offense).
Deputies responded to the crash around 2:30 a.m. after receiving a call from Abbott about the crash.
After investigating, deputies say Abbott was driving the 2001 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on I-94 with two other women in the truck.
A fight occurred between a 21-year-old Eastpointe woman who was in the backseat and a 21-year-old Roseville woman in the front seat. As they were fighting, Abbott lost control of the truck and hit a guardrail.
Because of the crash, the front seat passenger, later identified as Samantha Mullins, was thrown from the truck. She later died at the hospital.
Abbott is currently being held at the Macomb County Jail and was given a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
