Michigan State Police say a 10-year-old girl from Eastpointe died Saturday morning following a crash on I-75 late Friday night.

According to police, it happened around 11:15 p.m. on I-75 near I-696.

MSP says a 2010 Dodge Dakota rear-ended a 2009 Pontiac G6 on the freeway. The Dakota flipped on its side while the G6 went up the embankment and hit a bridge.

The 10-year-old girl, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the car. All people involved were taken to a local hospital, where the girl eventually died from her injuries.

The 23-year-old from Harper Woods who was driving the G6 is currently in critical condition.

According to Michigan State Police, alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash.
