An anti-Hillary Clinton political sign is causing some controversy in a Troy neighborhood.

The sign, posted outside of a Troy home has been stolen three times. The homeowner has filed a police report.

Tom Moran posted the sign and he said he’s aware it would be shocking to some. The sign reads ‘Huck Fillary’.

"We posted a political sign to express our right to free speech.  The political signs was aplay on words and it was an anti-Hillary sign,” said Moran. "There were no curse words, but it was implied.”

The first time he put the sign out at at the end of August it was stolen almost immediately.

He then said the city got involved, city officials said it violated city code.

"The city took a look at this sign and said 'Oh, we've got to get this guy',” said Moran.

He hung the sign a third time and it was stolen again.

"The third sign was relocated within city code, 42 inches, I encased it in Plexiglas and I hung it from a steel cable,” said Moran.

He said after that, dead grass spots started to appear on the lawn. He even received an anonymous letter demanding the signs removal. It was eventually stolen again.

"The message was bold and yes we are very aware it was tacky, but that was the point,” said Moran.

He said it’s his right to put it up on his private property.

"The big issue I have with the whole thing is the attempt to shut down the right to free speech.  Free speech to me is about content you might not agree with,” said Moran.

Moran is not sure if he’s going to post the sign for a fourth time.
