A Detroit family is begging for anyone with information about a deadly hit and run accident to come forward immediately.

Lawanda Dawson tells us her mother, Lashawn, was struck by a car on 8 Mile near Evergreen in Southfield early Tuesday morning. The 44-year old grandmother was left on the side of the road to die.

Lawanda Dawson says, "Can't sleep, can't eat, I just want to know what happened to her."

Police have little information to go on, and have not released a description of the car. Her family says it's uncharacteristic of her to be on that stretch of road, during that time of day.

If you have any information, call Southfield Police right away.
