PONTIAC, Mich. (WXYZ) — Police say a man was robbed and stabbed at a park just across the street from a church when trying to make an online sale Monday.

We talked the Good Samaritan who helped save his life.

“It was like a horror movie,” says James Warner. “He has no shirt on, he looked mangled, he had a stab wound to the chest that was deep, bleeding everywhere.”

When Warner opened his front door a little before 11 p.m. Wednesday, he couldn’t believe his eyes.

“There is a guy bleeding at the door, oh my God what we do,” Warner said.

He quickly put pressure on the man’s wounds while someone called 911. The man told James he parked at the church and met a woman at Baldwin Park to purchase a cell phone she was selling online.

That’s when police say a man came up to the victim, robbing and then stabbing him.

James says the victim, who is from Canton, ran - going door-to-door, yelling for help.

“Just fortunate to be there to help this guy live another day,” Warner says.

While officials continue to investigate, he has this word of advice for those buying and selling stuff online: “Do it at a police department."
