It's been a week since the strong winds knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of folks in our area.
Today, less than 2,000 people are still without power.
Several homes on Summit Drive in Novi are going on eight days without any power. No power also means no well water.
Some are lucky enough to have generators, while others are not.
"When you lose power, you lose your water. You need the electricity to pump the pump," said Lydia Bohr.
There are 38 homes on Summit Drive that have been without electricity.
Lydia says the strong winds took out power on March 8 around 9:30 am. She's been calling DTE Energy for updates, but has been irritated to go through an automated system.
"You really need to have somebody to speak to find out what's going on."
Many of the neighbors left to stay in hotels. Some neighbor have stayed behind and Lydia has been providing them buckets of water.
"I've already dished out $220 in gas for the generator," Lydia explained. "I can't imagine some of these other people dishing out that have the children. Have to go to a hotel, the meals."
DTE has dispatched a crew to visit Summit Drive saying their situation has been a bit complex with a broken pole and two spans of wire down, but they're hoping to get them back on the grid no later than tomorrow.
"I feel there is no excuse, eight days later."
