Two suspended Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies are now facing charges in connection with an accident that injured a 70-year-old woman.

The accident happened Thursday, March 17 on University Drive in Pontiac.

Twenty-nine-year-old Drew Sackner and 25-year-old David Weaver III were both off duty at the time of the accident.

Sackner is charged with operating a vehicle with a high blood alcohol content, Possession of a Firearm under the influence and Failure to stop at the scene of a property damage accident.

Weaver is charged with Allowing an intoxicated person to operate a motor vehicle and Possession of a Firearm under the influence.

Testing has determined that Sackner had a BAC of .20 and Weaver had a BAC of .13.  Sackner’s BAC qualifies him to be charged under Michigan’s Super Drunk law.

Both men were given a $5,000 bond and they are due back in court April 26.

Both deputies have been suspended and have less than two years on the job. The Sheriff's Office has begun the process of terminating their employment.
